Some terminology baffles even the
most expert artist or craftsperson. In fact, several of
the most talented people I know, do not know the subtle
differences between a collage, an assemblage, or a decoupage
- or the definition of lightfastness or rheology. Moreover
they ask,” Why is lightfastness even important?”
I often field questions
about product, its usage, or everyday terminology used at
USArtQuest. So, for several weeks I’ve worked on a
Glossary
to aid in answering some of those questions. It doesn’t
cover techniques, but does cover the technical information
about products and ingredients, attributes and features.
For those questions about technique, please read The
Art of Paper Collage, The
Scrapbook Encyclopedia, or Mica
Magic. They are pretty comprehensive, demonstrating
dozens of techniques, many using USArtQuest products –
but also many others too.
In the meantime, when perplexed
about creative terminology, the answer or definition is
just a click away. There too, you will discover the reason
we think lightfastness is important! Please bookmark the
USArtQuest
Glossary to use as your creative reference resource.
